Training the skill

Studying is the only way to increase your level. Your first lessons will be in the trading school in Rile (or Hooks Edge if you're a pirate). You can stay here until level 10. After that you will have to move on to the University of Unera.

Name Location Min Level Max Level
School Rile - Remer Island 1 10
University Unera - Dearn Island 10 25
University Hooks Edge - Skull Island 1 40+
University Xanso - Mezno Island 25 40
University Kanzo - Kanzo Island 40 50
University Maadi - Anasco Island 50 80

Studying is not free. Every lesson will give you 20 xp and for that you will pay a fee. The first lessons will cost 2 gold pieces (gp), but that price increases according to your trading level. You can use our trading calculator (to be added) to see how much gold pieces you need to invest to reach a certain level.

Player shops

Once you have decided you want to be a shop owner you will have to increase your trading skill. At level 1 you will only be able to sell 16 items in your shop. Every next trading level will increase this number. You can use our Shop slots calculator (to be added) to see how much slots you can fill at a certain trading level.

You can also complete the Securing Your Shops quest which will enable you to install a safe in your shop. These can protect a percentage of the gp in the shop from purchases by players.

Cave of Trades

Or you use the Cave of Trades (CoT) to put your items on auction. After setting a minimum sale price anyone can bid on it during 6, 12, 24 or 48h. After the end of the auction you will receive a msg confirming the sale and receive the gp in your pocket. The buyer will automatically receive the items in the inventory. If the item was not sold you will also get a message and you will have to return to the CoT to retrieve your item.

The maximum minimum price is determined by your trading level. At trading level 1 you can not set a minimum sale price over 500 gp. At higher trading levels it is possible to set a reasonable sale price for the more expensive items. It will also increase the number of items you can auction and bid on. Use our CoT calculator (to be added) to learn more.
